At Lang-lab, the voluntary participation in research is proposed to develop the skills and knowledge of volunteers through their participation in the Corpus & Avatar Project. Voluntary participation is always certified by the Lang-Lab laboratory.
Participate as a gestuante in LGP corpus
We are looking for fluent Portuguese Sign Language signers.
To participate as a voluntary informant in the LGP Reference corpus, you must be a LGP-fluent signer and be over 18 years of age. The participation will take place after the informant accepts the use of the video recording for investigation purposes through authorization by informed consent.
Participate as a volunteer researcher at the LGP Reference Corpus
A participação na anotação e/ou no estudo aos dados do Corpus de Referência para a LGP fornecerá ao investigador voluntário competências ao nível das metodologias a adotar na construção de corpora de línguas gestuais, competências de anotação e de utilização de ferramentas de anotação (como o ELAN), e competências de análise de padrões linguísticos. Existem vários estudos associados à análise da LGP que poderá integrar como voluntário.
Todos os pedidos de participação para voluntariado serão avaliados individualmente com base nos conhecimentos, nas competências e nos interesses do candidato. Tendo em consideração que trabalhar no Corpus de Referência para a LGP requer um alto nível de competências em LGP, é fundamental que o candidato seja fluente em LGP. Candidatos surdos são, particularmente, bem-vindos.
Volunteers for the animation of the signing avatar are also accepted.
The participation can be full-time (minimum 2 weeks) or part-time (minimum 3 months).
